|| The new sector open in 2010 display the
old and famous collection of coins and medals, created in the fifties, by
Luigi Bernabò Brea. From the original numismatic core of the nineteenth
century and thanks to the constant research and protection on the territory,
it was created an unique collection of coins of Greek Sicily from archaic
age to the medieval.
A series of important private collections, donated or purchased, complete
exposure. A part of the sector is dedicated to jewellery and the collection
include pieces dating from the prehistoric to modern age, illustrating the
changing of techniques, tastes and fashions throughout the centuries.
A series of grants has allowed the Museum to implement guided itineraries
of the area with the aid of maps and tactile itinerary, reproductions in
thermoformed panels and a guide in Braille.
